Many musicians and friends of Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington were shocked to hear the news of his suicide. See some of their statements and reactions.

The world is reacting to the tragic news that Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington committed suicide by hanging.
The body of Bennington, 41, was discovered inside of a home in Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles County, TMZ reported. Police say that Bennington was the only one in the home at the time, as his family was out of town. His body was reportedly found upstairs by an employee.
Bennington is survived by his wife, Talinda, and his six children .
Bennington’s voice became synonymous with the nu metal genre of the early 2000s. Linkin Park arrived on the scene with their 2000 album, Hybrid Theory, which was certified Diamond by the RIAA in 2005 and was the best-selling album of the decade.
Linkin Park followed up their most popular release with 2003’s Meteora and then Minutes to Midnight in 2007.
