Georgia's fuel supply won't be interrupted by Harvey, governor says

ATLANTA – Gov. Nathan Deal outlined Georgia’s efforts to assist in Hurricane Harvey rescue and recovery operations in Texas.
On Wednesday, he also announced steps taken to help “safeguard Georgians’ fuel supply during the aftermath of the hurricane.”
Deal said Georgia has been granted a fuel waiver from the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency and issued an executive order waiving rules and regulations for truck drivers transporting motor fuel in Georgia, as well as for those carrying hurricane relief supplies.”
On Wednesday, the nation’s largest refinery temporarily shut down following devastating local floods from Hurricane Harvey and the aftermath. The Saudi-owned Motiva refinery in Port Arthur, Texas, began what it called “a controlled shutdown” at 5 a.m. Wednesday.
