Lake Huron Medical Center (LHMC) celebrated its employees and volunteers during a recognition event where the Employee and Volunteer of the Month of August were announced.
The August 2017 Employee of the Month is Robert Gray. Robert works as a plant engineer II/plant maintenance and has been employed with LHMC since November 1996.
The August 2017 Volunteer of the Month is Dennis Bilinia. Dennis is a patient ambassador and has been donating his time since 2012.
Megan Jakubiak has been named the McLaren Port Huron Employee of the Month for July. Jakubiak has worked at McLaren Port Huron since 2008 and is currently a registered nurse in Women’s Wellness Place.
Renee Miller, co-valedictorian from Marlette Jr./Sr. High School, is the recipient of the Terry and Jackie Reid Scholarship. Renee has been a member of the National Honor Society, Business Professionals of America, Student Council, Math Academic Games and Band. She also participated in cross country, track and several honors bands for four years. Renee was selected as First Team Academic All-Conference in the GTC East, DAR Good Citizen of the Nipissing Chapter. This fall, Renee plans to attend Calvin College in Grand Rapids. She is the daughter of David and Carla Miller.
The Terry and Jackie Reid Scholarship was created in tribute to the Reids for their significant, positive influence on countless students across the state.
The Sanilac County Community Foundation has announced that the recipient of the Fred Cady Scholarship is Jaycee Whitley. Jaycee is the daughter of Ted and Nicole Whitley of Croswell and is a 2017 graduate of Croswell-Lexington High School. Jaycee was a member of the Cros-Lex girls powerlifting and softball team. She was also a member of the National Honors Society, attended the Sanilac Career Center Biotechnology program and was the treasurer of the FFA. She will be attending Michigan State University in the fall to study food science and technology.
The Fred Cady Scholarship Fund was established in September of 1998 by the Sanilac County Association of School Boards to honor Fred Cady, who retired after 22 years as an educator and administrator in Sanilac County.
As a business leader and involved citizen in Kimball, Allstate exclusive agency owner Christopher Stevens has been designated as an Allstate Premier Agency for 2017.
The Premier Agency designation is awarded to Allstate agency owners who have demonstrated excellence in delivering an accessible, knowledgeable and personal customer experience while achieving outstanding business results.
