Nikki Haley on Latest NKorea Missile Fire: 'Enough Is Enough'

U. S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley on Tuesday warned that enough is enough and something serious has to happen after North Korea fired a ballistic missile over Japan on Monday.
U. S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley on Tuesday warned that “enough is enough” and “something serious has to happen” after North Korea fired a ballistic missile over Japan on Monday.
The missile landed in the Pacific Ocean.
Haley told reporters the action was “absolutely unacceptable and irresponsible” and that the Security Council now needed to take serious action.
“No country should have missiles flying over them like those 130 million people in Japan. It’s unacceptable, ” she said, adding that North Korea has “violated every single U. N. Security Council resolution that we’ve had and so I think something serious has to happen, ” she added.
Saying “enough is enough, ” Haley said she hoped China and Russia would continue to work with the rest of the U. N. Security Council when it meets on Tuesday afternoon to discuss what more can be done about North Korea’s nuclear and missile programs.
Monday’s missile firing sent Japanese citizens running for cover following government warnings. It was the latest in what has been seen from the United States and its allies in the region as threatening acts from Pyongyang as it has fired multiple missile tests this year.
Leader Kim Jong Un has warned the United States he can hit the U. S. mainland with intercontinental ballistic missiles and will soon have miniaturized nuclear device to mount atop them.
Kim and President Donald Trump earlier this month traded barbs that heated up tensions between the two countries, but both the words and the North Korean testing had cooled in recent days.
