President Trump spoke with Spanish President Mariano Rajoy on Friday to offer condolences following a deadly terrorist attack in Barcelona, Spain on Thursday.
A White House press statement said that Trump, “pledged the full support of the United States in investigating the attack and bringing the perpetrators and their associates to justice.”
A van rammed into dozens of people in a popular pedestrian area of the city on Thursday in what authorities are calling a terrorist attack.
The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria took credit for the attack, which Spanish officials reported left more than a dozen dead and 50 others injured.
President Trump has condemned the attack and offered help to the country on Thursday as well.
“The United States condemns the terror attack in Barcelona, Spain, and will do whatever is necessary to help. Be tough & strong, we love you!” Trump wrote in a tweet.

The deadly crash came just days after a man with reported white supremacist ties allegedly rammed his car into a crowd of anti-racist protesters in Charlottesville, Va., during a white supremacist rally to protest the removal of a Confederate statue, killing one and injuring more than a dozen others.
