Images posted on social media show the man with his right leg through the small sinkhole all the way up to his hip.
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A small sinkhole swallowed a man’s foot and leg in Brooklyn Tuesday morning.
The man’s right leg went through the small sinkhole all the way up to his hip.

The incident took place on Myrtle Avenue at Walworth Street at around 11: 15 a.m.
The man’s rescue was caught on video: Firefighters helped the man pull his leg out.
He’s been taken to Woodhull Hospital for treatment.

The Department of Transportation is repairing the sinkhole.
