DALLAS – ESPN’s “College GameDay” crew is going with the favorite in the Michigan-Florida matchup today at 3: 30 p.m.
Analysts Desmond Howard and Kirk Herbstreit both took the Wolverines, a five-point favorite, as did guest picker and country music star Sam Hunt.
Lee Corso was the lone analyst to pick the Gators to win.
ESPN College GameDay: Kirk Herbstreit says Michigan’s defense will be better in 2017
Here is the reasoning for their picks
Howard: “A hard-fought game, especially because of Florida’s defense. I just think that Wilton Speight is going to break in a whole new group of wide receivers, and they are going to win a tough game against the Gators.”
Hunt: “I’m going Michigan. I am a Harbaugh fan. He reminds me of all the coaches I grew up with. I think they are going to have the leadership factor going.”
Corso: “I’m going Florida in the upset. They are going to win with overall team speed and a great defense.”
Herbstreit: “Give me Michigan here. This is a team that lost a ton of players from last year. Some people don’t expect much from them. I think 10 new starters for their defense. I think they are just as good this year, if not better. Look for that defense to lead them in a low-scoring game.”
