President Trump is expected to talk to the South Korean president on Monday morning following North Korea’s testing of a nuclear device over the weekend.
The phone call comes as South Korea began conducting live-fire military exercises after its northern neighbor detonated a nuclear device on Sunday – the regime’s sixth and most powerful.
Complicating the escalating tensions created by North Korean President Kim Jong Un’s regime on the Korean peninsula is Trump’s thinking of withdrawing from a free trade agreement with South Korea .
On Sunday, Trump also lashed out at South Korea for President Moon Jai In’s handling of negotiations over North Korea’s weapons programs, accusing him of appeasing Kim’s reclusive regime.
” South Korea is finding, as I have told them, that their talk of appeasement with North Korea will not work, they only understand one thing!, ” Trump wrote on Twitter on Sunday.
