North Korea might delay its next ballistic missile launch because of possible interference from ongoing solar storms.

South Korean Prime Minister, Lee Nak-yon, warned that Kim Jong Un could execute a missile launch on September 9th, the anniversary of North Korea’s Founding.
Bloomberg reports, the possible launch could be delayed because there is currently an outbreak of severe geomagnetic storms that can potentially harm electronic equipment.

Lance Gatling, an aerospace consultant in Tokyo said missiles are generally heavily shielded against radiation. However, the solar flares can cause them to lose data or important equipment.
Gatling also pointed out that the U. S. and Japan might be hoping for a launch. This way they can test detection and tracking equipment in a storm environment.
