FOX analyst now has Michigan in the College Football Playoff

Robert Smith’s latest forecast should please Wolverines fans.
Statistically, Michigan has one of the nation’s best defenses. But is it enough to carry the Wolverines into the College Football Playoff?
At least one analyst appears to think so, as FOX’s Robert Smith has No. 7-ranked Michigan projected into the CFP in his latest picks.
He has the Wolverines joining Alabama, Clemson and Oklahoma in the playoff, which are consensus picks among the FOX panel.

If Michigan is playoff worthy, it certainly will have an opportunity to prove it, starting with Saturday night’s clash against rival Michigan State.
A road trip to Penn State looms later this month (Oct. 21) and back-to-back games against Wisconsin and Ohio State wrap up the regular season.
For now, at least, the Wolverines are forging ahead with John O’Korn as their starting quarterback after Wilton Speight went down against Purdue. O’Korn shined in relief of the injured Speight, but can he (or any Michigan QB) be consistent enough for this team to reach its (playoff?) potential?
