O. J. Simpson left Nevada prison early Sunday morning moments after becoming eligible for parole ending a nine year stint for a Las Vegas robbery.
“He is out,” a Nevada correctional official confirmed to The LA Times hours after his release. “I do not know where he’s going. I didn’t want to know, to be honest,” the official added to CNN. “He was upbeat, personable and seemed happy to get on with his life.”
Simpson, now age 70, has not yet indicated what exactly his plans for the future are. He was granted parole in July. Simpson gained fame as a professional football star and actor throughout the 1980s and 1990s earning the nickname “The Juice.” Simpson was thrust further into the spotlight during his trial for allegedly slaying his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman.
“He’s going to focus on kids, friends, his family and golf,” his friend Tom Scotto told CNN.
