Woman charged with stabbing man in head with fork faces misdemeanor

WHITE PIGEON TOWNSHIP, MI — An 18-year-old woman has been charged with a misdemeanor for allegedly stabbing a 29-year-old man with a fork.

Emily Carpenter, of Sturgis, faces a charge of domestic violence, according to St. Joseph County District Court. She was arrested Monday, Oct. 9 after deputies responding to a report of a domestic assault in the 11000 block of Riverside Drive in White Pigeon Township found the 29-year-old man with several stab wounds, the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office said.
Carpenter allegedly stabbed the man in the head and neck area several times, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies said injuries suffered by the man, whose name was not released, were not considered to be life threatening.
Carpenter was lodged at the St. Joseph County Jail but was freed on bond, according to district court.
She pleaded not guilty to the domestic violence charge and has a pretrial hearing scheduled for Oct. 16.
