Alcohol believed a factor in head-on crash that kills one, injures four

The crash happened about 11:45 p.m.
SPARTA TOWNSHIP, MI — Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor in a head-on crash late Saturday that killed a Cedar Springs woman and injured four others.
Christina Gray Kent, 39 died in the crash on Sparta Avenue NE at Ball Creek Road.
Kent County sheriff’s deputies said she was a passenger in a 2003 Chevy Cavalier that crossed the center line about 11:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25.
The Cavalier struck a 2008 GMC Arcadia head-on.
Police said the driver of the car, Ralph Reichard Jr., 33, of Newaygo, had broken bones and head trauma. He was taken to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital for treatment.
Four people in the SUV, two from Newaygo and two from Howard City, also were taken to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital for treatment of various injuries.
