Foo Fighters, Guns N' Roses play tributes to Malcolm Young of AC/DC

There were messages sent from the stage and social media.
Fellow rockers honored Malcolm Young with live concert tributes Saturday, the same day that AC/DC shared the news that their band’s guitarist and co-founder had died.
The Foo Fighters performed “some rock and roll for Malcolm Young,” as Foo frontman Dave Grohl said, and opened their show with AC/DC’s Let There Be Rock. A giant photo of Malcolm Young was displayed behind the band during the performance at Mexico’s Corona Capitol Festival.
Grohl also wrote a note to Young on Twitter, where he thanked the late musician “for the songs, and the feel, and the cool, and the years of losing control to your rock and roll.”
Guns N’ Roses also remembered Young during a Saturday show in Sacramento, Calif. “We’re gonna dedicate this to Mister Malcolm Young, who will be sorely missed by none more than his brother Angus,” said Axl Rose in front of an image of Young. After that, as Rolling Stone reports, Slash covered Alice Cooper’s Only Women Bleed.
The same day, Slash shared message on Instagram: “This a monumentally sad day in Rock n Roll. RIP #MalcomYoung Take a moment of silence in his memory.”
