The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation.
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 48-year-old pedestrian from Nebraska died of injuries after being struck by a car Tuesday night on 12th Street, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Larry Justice was crossing 12th Street, east of Old Dixie Highway, when he was hit at 9:15 p.m. by a BMW driven by Vero Beach resident Andrea Capas, 45.
Tests of Justice’s blood alcohol content were pending. The FHP is investigating the crash.
Justice was declared dead at 2:11 a.m. Wednesday at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute, Fort Pierce. He was flown there after initially being taken to Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.
