Police arrest wrong woman in fatal store shooting, continue search

Saturday, the department announced, through its investigation, officers determined the woman was not one of the people of suspected in the shooting Nov. 1 at O’Reilly Auto Parts, 16830 Schaefer Highway, on the city’s west side.
DETROIT, MI – Detroit police arrested the wrong person in connection with a fatal Wednesday shooting at an auto parts store.
The took a 23-year-old woman into custody Friday for her alleged role in the crime.
Saturday, the department announced, through its investigation, officers determined the woman was not one of the people of suspected in the shooting Nov. 1 at O’Reilly Auto Parts, 16830 Schaefer Highway, on the city’s west side.
The woman has been released and police are actively investigating and looking for all suspects, Detroit police reported in a statement.
James Haller Jr., 75, a Vietnam veteran, was shot about 5:30 p.m. when the two women attempted to rob the business, WXYZ-TV reported .
Police released pictures of a woman, Shawnta Sharee Anderson, 23, and what appears to be a black SUV with a taped rear, passenger window.
