Trump’s schedule said he would depart Hickam Air Force Base on Honolulu in the afternoon, en route to Japan.
President Trump made a stop at his hotel in Hawaii on Saturday before departing on his extended trip to Asia.
«The President stopped by the Trump Hotel on his way to the airport,» said White House press secretary Sarah Sanders in a statement about the unplanned visit. «It has been a tremendously successful project and he wanted to say hello and thank you to the employee for all their hard work.»
Trump then departed Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu, en route to Japan.
The Trump International Hotel Waikiki is located southeast of the base. «In a perfect merging of beauty and function, the Honolulu accommodations at Trump International Hotel Waikiki, put the emphasis on just that — accommodating,» the Trump Hotel website says of the hotel.
