It was launched in January 2017, and since then it was running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based MIUI 8 operating system. However, yesterday, the company started rolling out the beta version of the Android 7.1.1 Nougat based MIUI 9 operating system to the Redmi 4A.
It is good to see that the company isn’t forgetting to update the low-end devices. What is even better is that the company is rolling out the latest version of their UI, the MIUI 9, instead of the older MIUI 8. The MIUI 9 brings tons of changes and features, including the much awaited split-screen multitasking.
The full roll out of this new beta update will take quite a long. However, if you are eager to try out the update, then you can manually install the update by downloading the update file from the Mi Forum.
We reviewed the Xiaomi Redmi 4A and found it to be very compelling except the front-facing camera, which puts out blurry images. The Xiaomi Redmi 4A comes with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB/32GB storage, 13-megapixel primary camera with autofocus and LED flash, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 5-inch IPS LCD HD screen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and 4100mAh battery. No doubt, the Redmi 4A is one of the best equipped smartphone in its price range.
