A British woman has been sentenced to three years in prison in Egypt for smuggling the painkiller allegedly bought for her Egyptian partner living in the Red Sea resort of Hurghada.
An Egyptian court has sentenced Laura Plummer, a British national to three years in prison over drug smuggling charges.
Laura Plummer, 33 years-old shop worker from Hull, has been arrested in October after 300 Tramadol tablets were found in her suitcase, the Mirror newspaper reported, adding that her relatives believe she bought the drugs for her Egyptian partner living in the Red Sea resort of Hurghada.
