Gov. Jerry Brown is scheduled to meet with victims of the Thomas Fire in Ventura County Saturday morning.
Brown is surveying the devastation caused by the massive wildfire and will meet with residents before joining local, state and federal officials at the command post at the Ventura County Fairgrounds, 10 W. Harbor Blvd., Ventura.
The governor will meet with the media afterward, approximately at noon.
Brown on Friday said that the state has obtained a presidential declaration that provides federal assistance for fighting the Southern California wildfires burning in Southern California. This week, Brown issued emergency proclamations for Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, San Diego and Ventura counties.
