Rockstar has officially announced the start of a Red Dead Redemption 2 event in GTA Online, featuring a treasure hunt for a golden revolver.
It didn’t take long for data miners to find hidden content inside the GTA Online: The Doomsday Heist.
Apparently, Rockstar had a little surprise for all GTA Online players who are waiting for Red Dead Redemption 2, waiting to be announced as new content for the game. Now everything is unveiled, bringing us a new event in GTA Online.
It all started when The Guru Team found out that inside the files of the GTA Online: The Doomsday heist there’s a number of unreleased vehicles and items, waiting to be released. What spiked their interest is a brand new revolver that is linked to a headshot challenge as well as some files indicating the existence of a treasure hunt event for a gold-plated six-shooter, based on Red Dead Redemption 2.
Later in the day, Rockstar has officially announced the start of the treasure hunt and the details of this event. It reads:
s So buckle up and get ready to start searching for that sweet loot, giving GTA Online another reason to win more people back now that The Doomsday Heist is out.
In related news, GTA Online updates are going to be slowing down a great deal after Rockstar Games releases Red Dead Redemption 2 later this year. The game, as the biggest Rockstar release since GTA 5 in 2013, is likely going to be taking up the studio’s attention for a long time.
