HMD Global may launch Nokia 9 on January 19.
Rumours suggest Nokia 9 are coming up almost every passing day. And now that the upcoming high-end smartphone by HMD Global has cleared FCC (Federal Communications Commission) certification it won’t be very wrong to say that the smartphone may go official very soon. However, it is worth noting that HMD Global hasn’t revealed any official details on the smartphone as of yet. To recall, Nokia 9 received 3C certification a couple of days ago.
Until now, we have seen renders, live images and some specs of the Nokia 9 surfacing online. But now, the FCC certification reveals almost all the key specs that the phone may come with. The screenshot of the specs sheet is leaked online. Going by the leaked details, Nokia 9 will come with a 5.5-inch OLED panel by LG. That being said, if the leaked specs are considered accurate enough, Nokia 9 will be the first phone by HMD Global to come with OLED screen. As of now, there are no details on the resolution and aspect ratio.
Meanwhile, an image of Nokia 9 has also surfaced online. The image shows the phone only from the front, and hints at a bezel-less display. The image has been leaked on Chinese social network site — Weibo. It reveals that — unlike the earlier rumours that suggested that smartphone may boast similar design as the Nokia 8 — Nokia 9 will see a major design change, especially from the front.

On the software front, the smartphone is expected to run on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo. There’s no mention of RAM details, however, it is tipped that the smartphone may come in only one storage variant with 128GB.
On the camera department, Nokia 9 is expected to come with dual rear cameras, where the primary camera will come with a 12-megapixel sensor, while the secondary camera will include a 13-megapixel sensor. On the front, the smartphone is said to come with a 5-megapixel sensor. The leaked specs sheet suggests that the upcoming smartphone by HMD Global will be backed by a 3,250mAh battery which will come along with fast charging support.
There are no official words on the launch timeline of Nokia 9. But, rumours suggest that the smartphone may go official in January. Some reports that leaked earlier revealed that HMD Global will host an event on Jan 19, and it is believed that Nokia 9 may be the star of the event. Some rumours also suggest that, on Jan 19, alongside Nokia 9, HMD Global may also announce the advanced version of Nokia 6, aka Nokia 6 (2018).
