Samsung today launched the world’s largest curved QLED gaming monitor in India, the 49-inch CHG90. Announced back in June, the CHG90 was recently certified by Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) as being the first PC monitor to be compliant with the DisplayHDR 600 standard. It has received several other accolades as well, including the CES 2018 Innovation Award, Trusted Reviews’ Best Monitor of 2017 Award, and TechRadar’s Five-Star Review.
The Samsung CHG90 is a curved gaming monitor with a 49-inch sized VA LCD panel, 3840 x 1080 resolution, 32:9 super ultra-wide aspect ratio, and an impressive 1800R curvature. Utilizing the same QLED technology used on Samsung’s premium 4K televisions, the CHG90 boasts a wide color gamut coverage (125% sRGB) as well. Rest of the key panel specs include 350 nits peak brightness, HDR10 support, 1ms (MPRT) response time, and 3000:1 static contrast ratio. Gamers, will, of course, be more interested in the panel’s high 144Hz refresh rate and support for AMD’s latest FreeSync 2 technology for an ultra-smooth gaming experience. Other gamer-focused features include factory-calibrated game display modes, eye-saver mode, 20-step Black Equalizer, Game-style OSD dashboard, and a Picture-by-picture mode. Display inputs provided include 2x HDMI ports, 1x DisplayPort, and 1x Mini DisplayPort. The monitor includes a height adjustable stand that offers swivel and tilt adjustments as well.
The Samsung CHG90 has been priced at a steep Rs.1,50,000 in India and is now available on the Samsung Shop online. It is expected to be available at leading offline electronic retail stores in the coming weeks.
