It’ll be a white Christmas — nearly everywhere in New York but the Big Apple.
“If you want to see a white Christmas, head north,” AccuWeather meteorologist Dan Kottlowski said Sunday.
City residents were set to be hit with rain until 6 a.m. Monday. The gloom will pass, but gusts will make the clear, 40-degree day feel closer to 20 degrees, he said.
“If you look at the thermometer, it will lie to you,” Kottlowski warned.
Westchester, Dutchess and Orange counties, meanwhile, will likely see a dusting, while Sullivan County could get three to six inches of snow.
And the National Weather Service warned that parts of western, central and northern New York could see up to 50 inches of lake-effect snow through Wednesday.
The city hasn’t seen snow on the ground on Christmas since 2009. But locals weren’t upset by the continued streak.
“I’m happy because the snow is pretty messy,” said Renee Kehinde, of Manhattan. “You don’t need snow to feel Christmas-y!”
