When it was first unveiled to the world back at IFA 2016, the Acer Swift 7 has captured a lot of attention due to its highly slim profile at 9.98mm. As it turns out, the company has managed to come out with an even thinner laptop for the next iteration of the laptop.
Also known by its SF714-51T model, the laptop’s unibody aluminum chassis is now features 8.98 mm profile. At the same time, the new model also features a bigger 14-inch full HD IPS touchscreen display as opposed to the 13.3-inch display on its predecessor. Acer has also installed Corning Gorilla Glass NBT on the laptop’s display and touchpad.
Interestingly, Acer has chosen to equip the 2018 Swift 7 laptop with 7th Gen Intel Core i7 processor instead of the more updated 8th Gen chip. Alongside the chip is 256GB of PCIe-based solid state drive and 8GB LPDDR3 RAM alongside fingerprint reader.
With the help of a built-in Intel XMM modem, the 2018 Swift 7 also comes with LTE connectivity. Based on the initial information from Acer, the laptop also supports both Nano SIM card and eSIM although we believe this option most likely depends on respective markets.
The new 2018 Acer Swift 7 will be first released in North America this coming March before making its way to EMEA regions in April. Price-wise, it will start at USD 1699 (about RM 6672) and EU 1699 (about RM 8027) for each respective markets.
As for its release in Malaysia, such information are not available at the moment.
