The amount of Dragon Ball FighterZ activity has reached 44,000 players on Steam on the first day of the game, and it will likely only go up through the weekend.
Dragon Ball FighterZ activity has skyrocketed from its release on the game’s Steam version, with over 44,000 people all playing it at the same time on the same day. The game released today alongside Monster Hunter World, giving many players a busy weekend ahead of them no matter what their platform.
Dragon Ball FighterZ has been hotly anticipated ever since it was announced at E3 2017, which gave players an actual honest-to-goodness Dragon Ball Z fighting game the likes of which hadn’t been seen since the Budokai games of the 2000s. With the game also coming with its own story mode, it might be one of the best games of the year even in January.
Even with Dragon Ball FighterZ activity crossing 44,000 on Steam, that’s not even taking all of the console gamers into account. With the success of the beta several weeks ago, FighterZ might be a gateway game to a lot of players that end up getting into the fighting game community, especially since the controls for the game are rather simple.
We don’t know what all is going to be going into FighterZ yet, but with the roster that we already have (all of the Z Warriors including Goku, Vegeta, multiple versions of Gohan, Piccolo, Tien, Yamcha, and Krillin, along with characters like Beerus, Hit, and some of the series’ best known villains like Frieza, Cell, and Goku Black), plus the possibility for more fighters being added in the future, gives the game a lot of potential.
Not to mention this is just a Friday morning; lots of players will likely be able to get on their PCs and play the game once they get off work, meaning that the number of concurrent players will increase as more people have time to play.
Either way, all of the Dragon Ball FighterZ activity will hopefully get Dragon Ball Z the video game resurgence it deserves.
