As expected, popular Chinese smartphone maker OPPO today launched its latest A series smartphone in India, the A83. The smartphone was made official in China last month and is the company’s most affordable offering with a “Full Screen” design yet.
The OPPO A83 has been priced at Rs.13,990 and will be available via both Amazon India as well as Flipkart starting January 20 th. You will be able to choose from two colors – Black and Gold.
The key highlight of the OPPO A83 is its large 5.7-inch 18:9 HD+ display. While the Full Screen design does make it look quite attractive, the HD+ resolution is slightly disappointing. As you can see in the image above, the OPPO A83 does not come with a fingerprint sensor. Instead, OPPO offers its Face Unlock facial recognition feature for unlocking the phone almost instantly. While the 8-megapixel selfie camera isn’t as impressive as some of OPPO’s more expensive smartphones, it does feature the same A. I. Beauty technology seen on the F5 and F5 Youth. As far as the hardware specs go, they are not quite best-in-class. Rivals such as the Honor 7X and the Xiaomi Mi A1 are definitely superior in most areas.
