Two men approached the victim asking to buy pot, police said
A 26-year-old man is in critical condition after being approached near a gas station on Detroit’s east side by two men who asked him about buying marijuana before shooting him, police said.
The shooting took place midnight at the Sunoco gas station on the 11600 block of East McNichols, just south of Hoover.
Police say the victim was approached by two men who tried to buy marijuana and shot him instead, before fleeing southbound on Gunston. He was putting air into his tires at the time.
Police offered descriptions of the two suspects: the first is a black male in his 20s, dark complexion, 5-feet-10-inches tall and 180 pounds. He wore a black jacket with a hood, blue jeans and carried a handgun.
The second is a black male in his 20s, light complexion, 5-feet-11,180 pounds. He wore a gray hoodie, gray sweatpants and a tan Carhartt jacket.
Police are investigating.
