The South Korean tech giant, Samsung launched its first ever A-series phone with an Infinity Display in the form of the Galaxy A8+ ( review) earlier this month. Within a week, the brand went on to launch its latest On series smartphone Galaxy On7 Prime ( first impressions) with Samsung Mall feature. Both these smartphones go on sale starting today as part of Amazon’s Great Indian Sale.
Speaking of the Galaxy A8+ first, the phone flaunts a 6-inch Super AMOLED full HD+ display featuring an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. With a glass-sandwich design, the device comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner below the camera module. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7885 processor, backed by 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. Moving on to the optics department, the handset gets a 16-megapixel + 8 Megapixel dual cameras on the front and a 16-megapixel rear camera with digital image stabilisation. The handset boots Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is fuelled by a 3,500mAh battery.
Moving on to the Galaxy On7 Prime, its highlight is the Samsung Mall feature which lets users scan objects using the camera and shop similar products from e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, Shopclues, Jabong and Tatacliq. Samsung has promised it will add more shopping websites in the near future. As for the core specs, the smartphone ships with a 5.5-inch full HD display and is powered by an Exynos 7870 SoC. It’s offered in two variants – 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB. There are 13-megapixel shooters on both the front and rear panels, with an aperture size of f/1.9. Running on Android Nougat, the Galaxy On7 Prime is fuelled by a 3,300mAh battery.
Both smartphones are up for grabs now on Amazon India with the Galaxy A8+ costing Rs 32,990, the Galaxy On7 Prime 32GB priced at Rs 12,990 and the 64GB model of the same costing Rs 14,990. The latter also comes with a cashback worth Rs 2,000 on JioMoney if users do a minimum monthly recharge of Rs 299 on their Jio number.
