A gunman opened fire on the local police officers, injuring several of them, at about 6:30 a.m. [12:30 p.m. GMT] in the US Pennsylvania’s town of Harrisburg, FOX43 reported.
The injured were reportedly transferred to the local hospital, the information on the exact number of those wounded in the attack is not available at the moment.
According to the PennLive media outlet, the suspected gunman is in a building, where police officers served a warrant, in the area of South 18th and Mulberry streets.

District Attorney Fran Chardo stated, as quoted by the media, those injured policemen were transferred to a local hospital. No information if he was taken into custody is available at the moment.

According to the PennLive, this is the second shooting accident in the area during the month, with 51-year-old Ahmed Aminamin El-Mofty shot and killed by police after shooting at officers around Harrisburg days before Christmas.
A press conference on the shooting is scheduled to take place later in the day.
