According to The Washington Post, the former first couple celebrated Michelle’s birthday at a restaurant so trendy, it’s not even open to the public yet! The former POTUS and FLOTUS dined at the uber-hip Washington D. C. restaurant Rake’s Progress.
The dining establishment will open on January 29, and is already one of the most anticipated restaurant openings of the year. According to the restaurant’s website, it will start to take reservations soon.

Judging by Michelle’s sweet Instagram earlier in the day, it seems as if she had an incredible 54th birthday. The former first lady took to the social media app to share the beautiful bouquet of flowers from her sweet husband.
“You’re my best friend, biggest fan, and getting notes and flowers from you will never get old,” she said of her husband of nearly 26 years in the caption.
The mother of two’s celebrations began even before her January 19th birthday, with some fun in the sun with daughter Malia. The two were spotted in Miami over the weekend, with Michelle turning heads in her white bikini and cut-off denim shorts.
