ANN ARBOR, MI — Still haven’t purchased your tickets for this weekend’s 41st Ann Arbor Folk Festival? You might be rewarded for your procrastination.
The Ark, the host and beneficiary of the annual fundraiser hosted on Friday, Jan. 26 and Saturday, Jan. 27 at Hill Auditorium, is providing the remaining balcony tickets for Friday’s lineup at $10 off. You can purchase tickets online at the discounted rate until 10 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25.
Discounted tickets also are available until 6 p.m. Thursday in person at the Michigan Union Ticket Office and by phone at 734-763-8587.
Friday’s bill, which begins at 6:30 p.m., includes alternative country artist Jason Isbell, who headlines for the evening. Joining Isbell on Friday’s bill are singer-soJasonngwriter Chastity Brown; Milwaukee folk duo Dead Horses; guitarist Stephen Kellogg, the former leader of Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers and southern swamp rock group JJ Grey & Mofro.
Saturday’s lineup, which is sold out, includes Albion bluegrass and folk duo The War and Treaty; soulful Minneapolis folk duo The Cactus Blossoms; genre-spanning rockers Mountain Heart; rock outfit Birds of Chicago; noted singer/songwriter Aimee Mann and folk music legend John Prine, who headlines.
The Ann Arbor Folk Festival is the annual fundraiser for The Ark and has raised more than $2 million toward it operations over the past two decades, helping it put on around 300 performances every year.
