“I went from being a creative contributor and performer to being like a broken tool.”
Actress Uma Thurman has come forward with a disturbing story about the alleged abuse and mistreatment she suffering while working with disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein.
In an article in The New York Times, Thurman describes how Weinstein attempted to cover up a car crash on the set of “Kill Bill” that left her with permanent neck and knee injuries.
“The steering wheel was at my belly and my legs were jammed under me,” she said. “I felt this searing pain and thought, ‘Oh my God, I’m never going to walk again.’”
In a post on Instagram Monday, Thurman released the footage of the crash and accused prominent producers Lawrence Bender, E. Bennett Walsh, and Weinstein of covering up the incident.

“They lied, destroyed evidence, and continue to lie about the permanent harm they caused and then chose to suppress,” Thurman wrote. “The cover up did have malicious intent, and shame on these three for all eternity.”
According to Fox News, after the crash, Thurman’s lawyer sent Weinstein’s company a letter reserving the right to sue, but quickly hit a dead end when they refused to release the footage unless she signed an agreement that they were released from any consequences caused by the event.
“When they turned on me after the accident,” Thurman said in the interview. “I went from being a creative contributor and performer to being like a broken tool.”
This is the most recent allegation brought against Weinstein, who became infamous for using his power to allegedly sexually assault actresses. This, among other allegations, helped to inspire the #MeToo movement that has gripped the nation.
The #MeToo movement emboldened others to come forward about their personal stories of alleged abuse from public figures such as Matt Lauer and Kevin Spacey, and it does not look like uncovering this corruption will stop anytime soon.
