Nintendo wins big at annual DICE Awards

All the winners, including Game of the Year
It was a big night for Nintendo at the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences’ DICE Awards, with the company taking home numerous accolades, including Game of the Year for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
The Switch and Wii U open-world adventure also won Adventure Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction and Outstanding Achievement in Game Design.
The annual DICE Awards are voted on by members of the AIAS, many of whom are game developers. At this evening’s event, Nintendo’s veteran executive and designer Genyo Takeda was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing his diverse and impressive contributions to gaming.
Nintendo also won Racing Game of the Year with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Handheld Game of the Year for Metroid: Samus Returns on 3DS, Mobile Game of the Year for Fire Emblem Heroes and Outstanding Achievement in Sound Design for Super Mario Odyssey .
Other notable winners include PlayerUnknown’s Battle ground s, which won Outstanding Achievement in Online Gameplay and Action Game of the Year.
Cuphead picked up awards for original music, art direction and animation. Sony’s Horizon Zero Dawn won awards for technical achievement and achievement in story.
