Nokia 1 Launched with Android Oreo Go Edition, Priced at $85

Nokia 1 is an entry-level phone that comes powered by Google’s Android Oreo Go Edition. The device packs in a basic set of features and support 4G LTE. Read on for more details.
The HMD Global led Nokia has unveiled a bouquet of Android-powered smartphones with the most affordable one starting from just $85. The Nokia 1 is marketed as “smartphone essentials” and comes powered by the Android Oreo Go Edition. Google had recently launched the Android Oreo Go edition, a platform optimised for entry-level smartphones.
The Nokia 1 offers a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS display and is powered by a 1.1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 SoC paired with 1GB of RAM. On the storage front, the device offers 8GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 128GB. Camera options on the Nokia 1 include a 5-Megapixel rear camera with a fixed focus lens and an LED flash. The front/selfie camera is a is a 2-Megapixel fixed focus unit. As expected the camera is mediocre at best (on paper), but one needs to keep in mind that the Nokia 1 is a sub $100 budget phone.
Interestingly the Nokia 1 comes with a collection of Xpress-on covers across different colors like Azure, Grey, Yellow and Pink. Backing the device is a 2150mAh battery which is rated to offer up to 9 hours of talk time and a standby of up to 15 days. Connectivity features on the Nokia 1 include 4G VoLTE, WiFI 802.11, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, FM Radio, micro-USB and a 3.5mm audio jack. Nokia 1 will be available from April at a retail price of $85. The Xpress covers will be sold separately and will cost $7.99 each.
