At a news conference on Tuesday, agency official Takaharu Kachi said a string of events leading up to the wedding will be rescheduled. The official said a series of important functions will be held next year related to the abdication of the Emperor and the accession of the Crown Prince. He said the young couple’s wedding is expected to be held in 2020 after all such Imperial functions have duly ended.
