Rep. Tom Reed said Thursday he will not support the budget deal because it adds too much to the debt.

“I’m not supportive of this deal going forward,” Mr. Reed, New York Republican, said on Fox News.
He said he isn’t sure whether the House will have the votes to pass it with several Democrats also holding out their support.
“At the end of the day, maybe they’ll get it to enough votes to get it to the final stage,” Mr. Reed said.
“I know the Freedom Caucus came out with their 31 votes that are against it, and there are others there,” he added.
Mr. Reed said that he understands military funding and the other major funding measures included are important, but he said he ran for Congress to help fix the debt problem, not add to it.
The House is expected to vote on the budget later Thursday, but House Speaker Paul D. Ryan was optimistic that they had the votes to pass it.
