Marvel’s “Black Panther” is smashing box office records and taking the world by storm. But its stars aren’t kicking back to bask in the spotlight — they already have big plans in the works. Here’s what’s next for them:
Winston Duke
The 31-year old is the undisputed breakout star of the film, holding his own against the renowned likes of Forest Whitaker and Angela Bassett. He’ll be in the next “Avengers” movie (out May 4) along with Chadwick Boseman, and he’s sure to have his pick of next projects. Watch this space.
Letitia Wright
The 24-year-old is making a name for herself in major franchises, including the next “Avengers” movie and Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of the sci-fi novel “Ready Player One“ (out March 29).
Lupita Nyong’o
Nyong’o will star in and produce the big-screen adaptation of Trevor Noah’s autobiography “Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood.” She’ll be playing the comedian’s mother, who broke apartheid law when she gave birth to Noah — whose father is white — in Johannesburg in 1984. It’s also rumored that Nyong’o will be in Sony’s “Charlie’s Angels” reboot and in “Star Wars: Episode IX,” although the actress has confirmed neither. In the immediate future, she’ll star in the zombie movie “Little Monsters” with Josh Gad.
Michael B. Jordan
Jordan, who gave a magnetic performance as Erik Killmonger, might be the busiest cast member. This spring, he’ll star alongside Michael Shannon in the HBO adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s “Fahrenheit 451.” He also plans to team up with “Panther” director Ryan Coogler for “Wrong Answer,” a school drama about a teacher who alters students’ test scores. And if all that wasn’t work enough, he’ll also be keeping busy with a Netflix superhero series called “Raising Dion,” and he’s got two additional films: a sequel to his Rocky movie “Creed,” and “Just Mercy,” which centers on civil rights defense attorney Bryan Stevenson.
Chadwick Boseman
T’Challa’s immediate future is all Marvel, all the time. Next up: the two “Avengers: Infinity War” movies (out May 4,2018 and May 4,2019). In recent interviews, Boseman has also expressed a desire to do more behind-the-scenes writing projects.
