Square Enix posts a job listing for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake seeking a ‘core’ team member who can assist in increasing the quality of the forthcoming game.
The last bit of information shared by Square Enix in regards to the development of the forthcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake came by way of director Tetsuya Nomura, who revealed that the protagonist Cloud Strife received major changes in order to better resemble the tone and style of the character from the original. While this didn’t give much of an insight into how far along production has made it so far, a recent job listing for the title points to the project continuing to move along at a solid pace.
As seen in the description of the aforementioned job listing translated by Siliconera, Square Enix is seeking an “active core member” for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake who will be able to help “increase its quality another step higher.” As further explained by the post, the publisher and developer intends to boost the game’s quality with the new hire, for “in addition to the current members for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake development, [Square Enix] must establish a core group that includes level planners, battle planners, designers, engineers, and various types of jobs to tackle on the production of the big title.”
According to Siliconera, the aforementioned job listing for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake isn’t meant to be seen as a last minute replacement for “dealing with work volume,” but is instead being advertised to show that the Square Enix is in need of someone who can further assist in creating a world of the original that is going to be resurrected for “modern times.” Apparently, it looks like position will encourage the new hire to contribute ideas and concepts for the characters and “brainstorm level designs for each location.”
All things acknowledged, this new job listing from Square Enix makes it seem as if most of the foundational elements of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake are in place, but the game needs further polishing in order to live up to fans’ expectations and deliver a truly remarkable experience. As of now, there’s no telling when or if the title will be released during 2018, but considering the fact that Square Enix wants to get every little detail just right, there’s a high likelihood it could come out in 2019 or beyond. Until word of its launch is shared, though, we will simply have to wait until the next development update.
The Final Fantasy 7 Remake is currently in development for PlayStation 4.
