Monster Hunter World remains at number one of the most downloaded PS4 games since its launch two months ago, Sony Interactive Entertainment America (SIEA) revealed. However, keep in mind that all of these rankings are based on the number of digital downloads only.
SIEA Social Media Manager Justin Massongill announced the February rankings for as much as six different categories on PlayStation Blog. Monster Hunter World sits on top of the PS4 games list, with NBA Live 18: The One Edition and Shadow of the Colossus grabbing the second and third place, respectively.
That’s followed by three more sports-based games, including FIFA 18, Madden NFL 18 and UFC 3. In descending order, the rest of the list is populated by Rainbow Six Siege, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Gang Beasts.
Fortnite Battle Royale beats Brawlhalla, Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 Lite, and Warframe to be the king of the free-to-play games category. As for the PS VR games category, Superhot VR leads the charge with Job Simulator, PlayStation VR Worlds and others trailing behind.
Secret of Mana is the most downloaded PS Vita game for the month of February. Interestingly, the Legacy Dashboard Theme, which is inspired by the PS2’s iconic system menu, remains a huge favorite although it was overtaken by the Monster Hunter World Theme last month. After more than two decades, it looks like a lot of gamers still like playing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, as it scales to the top of the PS Classics category.
In other news, Monster Hunter World recently became the best-selling title in Capcom history, shipping over 7.5 million units worldwide since it was launched. According to the most recent Media Create Sales figures, the game has also been highly successful in Japan, dominating the top of the top twenty software sales charts since it was released. That amounts to a total lifetime sales of 1,928,890 units in Japan alone.
