13-year-old boy shot in Detroit, 4th youth shot this month in city

The victim was on a couch at home when a shot was fired through the window, striking the boy in the left foot.
A 13-year-old Detroit boy is recovering after being shot inside his home on the west side— the fourth child shot in the city this month, according to police.
The shooting happened around 1:35 a.m. at the boy’s home in the 8400 block of Plainview, according to Detroit police. The victim was on a couch when a shot was fired through the window, striking the boy in the left foot.
The child was taken to the hospital by medics and is listed in stable condition, police said.
This marks the fourth shooting of a Detroit youth in April.
On April 5, a 7-year-old boy was shot in the neck while in his bedroom on the second floor of his home. A person of interest was taken into custody.
A 3-year-old girl was shot in the head on April 7 during an altercation between two men at a Citgo gas station. A suspect was taken into custody.
Another shooting happened on April 8, when a 16-year-old in the area of 8 Mile and Telegraph was shot by an unknown shooter.
The investigation into today’s shooting is ongoing.
