Asus is all set to launch a new smartphone on April 23. Dubbed as Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1, the smartphone will be exclusively available on Flipkart in India. Apart from the phone’s name and availability, the company didn’t disclose much information. However, the ZenFone Max Pro M1 was briefly spotted on Asus Indonesia’s Instagram page along with its specs sheet.
The Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 will sport a 6-inch FullView display, probably with the aspect ratio of 18:9. Under the hood, the smartphone will come equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor. This comes as no surprise, as Asus had earlier confirmed the information.
In terms of memory, the ZenFone Max Pro M1 will come in two variants. The base one will offer 4GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage, whereas the higher version will have 6GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage.
Keeping with the current trend, the ZenFone Max Pro M1 will flaunt a dual rear camera setup with a 16MP primary sensor with PDAF and LED flash. At the front, the smartphone will use a 16MP sensor as well for selfies and video calls.
On the software front, the smartphone will run on stock Android Oreo right out of the box. Notably, the ZenFone Max Pro M1 will be the first Asus smartphone to deliver pure Android experience.
One of the main highlights of the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 will be its massive 5,000mAh battery. Other expected features onboard include a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, facial recognition, dedicated dual SIM slots, and a five-magnet speaker.
The leak further reveals the ZenFone Max Pro M1 will come in three color variants; Black, Blue and Gold. As far as rest of the details are concerned, we expect new information to emerge before the official launch on Monday.
Looking at the specifications, it is safe to say the ZenFone Max Pro M1 will be a direct rival to Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 Pro. While there’s no information on the pricing, we expect Asus to place the smartphone in the sub-20K category. In any case, we will have to wait until Monday to see how does the smartphone perform in terms of sales.
