Free “FIFA 18” DLC lets players create their own World Cup experience.
It’s almost time for the World Cup and FIFA 18 is looking to get in on the celebrations with free DLC. The World Cup DLC will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC starting on May 29, and mobile devices starting on June 6.
What’s included in the World Cup DLC for FIFA 18? A whole bunch of goodies, including all 12 Russian stadiums that will host World Cup events. The stadiums feature different national banners for the countries competing in the World Cup, along with “immersive atmospheres” and high-resolution crowds. If you want a preview of the stadiums, including the arenas in St. Petersburg, Sochi and Moscow, be sure to check out the FIFA 18 site here.
Of course, all 32 qualifying teams will be represented with accurate rosters. The teams participating in this year’s World Cup include some heavy hitters like Brazil, France, Spain and Germany. Unfortunately for us Americans, there will be no Team USA to cheer on this time. If you want to alter reality, a new Custom FIFA Tournament game mode is included, allowing players to feature teams like USA, Italy, Netherlands and others that didn’t make the cut.
Other game modes in the World Cup DLC include FIFA World Cup Ultimate Team, an offline World Cup Kick-Off mode and a proper FIFA World Cup mode with the 32 qualifying teams. FIFA World Cup Ultimate Team features new World Cup Icon players, an update to the Chemistry system and more. Full details about FIFA World Cup Ultimate Team and the other new game modes can be found here.
FIFA 18 ’s World Cup DLC is available starting on May 29 for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. A World Cup update will also come to FIFA Mobile on June 6. The updates will be free for all consoles. The real-world World Cup begins on June 14 with host country Russia playing an opening round match against Saudi Arabia.
