Despite not interjecting during the investigation, Billy Mitchell has finally come out to defend himself. A new video was published, stating he has evidence to prove his records are valid.
It was just last week when we reported that Billy Mitchell, world record holder for being the first one to reach one million points in Donkey Kong, was found to have cheated. Subsequently, Mitchell was stripped of his Donkey Kong record and other gaming accolades that he had achieved over a decades-long career. Now, Mitchell has decided to respond to the investigation and seems content on proving that he did not cheat.
Despite the controversy, Mitchell attended the Midwest Gaming Classic, greeting fans and going about as if nothing was wrong. He did later release a video statement about the new allegations and offered this to say about it:
He goes on to say that it has taken a considerable amount of time to gather witnesses and documents, but that nothing will be withheld. If you’d like, you can watch the full statement in the video above. It will be interesting to see what comes of all of this and to see how Mitchell will rebound.
