Chinese manufacturer OnePlus took to Twitter yesterday to post the first teaser of its next flagship. The teaser, which comes in the form of a brief video, confirms that OnePlus 5Ts successor will be called OnePlus 6.
OnePlus 6 is arriving early this year, and it is kind of confirmed. OnePlus usually unveils its new flagships in June, but this year the company seems to have different plans. The Chinese manufacturer took to Twitter yesterday to post the first teaser of its next flagship. The teaser comes in the form of a brief video (embedded below the article) of four seconds.
Truth be told, the teaser doesn’t reveal much. That said, it does confirm that OnePlus’s upcoming flagship will indeed be called OnePlus 6. Additionally, the smartphone will deliver „The Speed You Need“, claims the video. Since the company has already started the marketing campaign, the successor of OnePlus 5T is believed to launch pretty soon.
While OnePlus has not given any specific timeline yet, recent reports suggest that OnePlus 6 could be launched by the end of this month. This means, the company will take the wraps off this much-anticipated device in just couple of weeks.
Further, the smartphone has also received its Wi-Fi certification, which indicates its launch is imminent. If you recall, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau had previously said that the company’s next flagship will be launched in the latter part of Q2,2018. So we are wondering why it has decided to prepone the launch of OnePlus 6.
Talking about the phone itself, the OnePlus 6 is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with up to 8GB RAM. If we go by a previous leak, the smartphone will be available in three storage options; 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.
Coming to other aspects, the OnePlus 6 is likely to feature a 6.28-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 2,280×1,080 pixels, resulting in the aspect ratio of 19:9. Yes, it will come with an iPhone X-like notch at the top.
We don’t expect much upgrades in the phone’s camera department. It will reportedly feature a vertically arrange dual rear camera setup with a 20MP sensor and a 16MP sensor. The resolution of the front camera is not known yet. The smartphone is further said to pack a 3,450mAh battery with OnePlus’s proprietary Dash Charging feature.
As far as the pricing is concerned, the OnePlus 6 is said to cost 3,299 Yuan (approx. 34,090) for the 64GB model, 3,799 Yuan (approx. Rs. 39,256) for the 128GB variant, and 4,399 Yuan (approx. Rs. 45,456) for the 256GB variant.
