Refusing to leave the plane, the man endured multiple tasings in a struggle with several Miami police officers on an American Airline flight.
An unruly passenger aboard an American Airlines flight endured multiple tasings in a struggle with police officers after allegedly groping a woman on the plane Sunday night in Miami, according to multiple reports.
Jacob Garcia wrapped his legs around a seat and refused to budge after Miami-Dade police boarded Flight 2446 to Chicago, according to CBS Miami, prompting a struggle in which police tased him 10 times “due to Mr. Garcia’s actions and the close quarters of engagement,” per a police report.
“Get him off! Get him off!” passengers chant in a YouTube video posted online by Jordan Liss.
“Johnson, watch out,” one officer says, preparing to tase Garcia.
Garcia, after being tased, mocks the officer: “Go ahead, Johnson, get the f— out of here. (The video contains foul language.)
Another video captures the moments from a closer angle, showing Garcia trying to swat an officer’s taser away after being stunned. “You’re like a little baby,” Garcia tells one officer.
As officers struggle to apprehend him in the plane’s aisle, Garcia asks, “What is the reason why you’re removing me from this plane?”
A voice off camera responds: “Well, you assaulted a woman, for one.”
Liss, who filmed the YouTube video, told Fox 13 that Garcia touched a woman inappropriately on the flight. Before that, he made racist remarks to a gate agent, Liss said.
Police arrived after Garcia refused to leave when asked, the station reported, and American Airlines said he was eventually arrested. Another video, taken as passengers temporarily deplaned, shows Garcia boarding a cart as officers take him away. Cheering ensues.
The plane left about an hour later than scheduled, Fox 13 reported.
