Huawei’s sub-brand has made quite a name for itself in the Indian smartphone. Aimed at offering mid-range smartphones with top-end features and powerful camera setup, many of its products have tasted success concerning sales. Now, keeping up the trends, Honor has brought yet another smartphone to the Indian shore, the Honor 10. In this article, we have included all the info that you need to know about this latest smartphone along with its pricing and availability details.
The Honor 10 launched in London today, the phone packs an AI-assisted camera that enhances photos, and it also has an under-glass ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. In India, Honor 10’s price is Rs. 32,999 and the phone will be exclusively on sale via Flipkart. It will be available in Phantom Blue and Midnight Black colour options.
As we already mentioned above, the Honor 10 is a Flipkart-exclusive product and will be sold only through it. Flipkart has already created a landing page for the smartphone, and its pre-booking will kick off at 12 AM (midnight) in India. It’s worth noting that the product page on Flipkart does not mention any details regarding the pricing yet, but it includes a lot of info about the Honor 10’s camera and other special features.
Concerning design, the Honor 10 takes a lot from Huawei’s recently launched flagships, the P20 and the P20 Pro. The Honor 10 also features two-tone gradient finish whose colour changes depending on the angle you are viewing it from. It comes with a 5.84-inch LCD panel with 2280×1080 pixels resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. And yes, just like the P20 duo, this one also comes with a notch on the front panel, a design that is being religiously followed by most of the Chinese manufacturers. We guess iPhone X did set the trend there. However, unlike the iPhone X, the notch on the Honor 10 can be disabled if a user wants to utilise the entire screen.
Under the hood, the Honor 10 is powered by Huawei’s in-house AI-powered Kirin 970 chipset, the same SoC also powers the Huawei P20, P20 Pro, and the Honor View 10. The phone packs 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It must be noted that the storage on the Honor 10 is non-expandable. On the software side of things, the Honor 10 runs Android 8.1-based EMUI 8.1.
The ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is touted to be more accurate than other fingerprint scanners. It even reads the fingerprint even when the finger is wet or dirty. Notably, the Honor 10 is not the first smartphone to pack an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, Xiaomi’s Mi 5s was the first smartphone to embed it.
Concerning optics, the Honor 10 sports a 24MP+16MP dual camera setup at the rear with f/1.8 aperture, PDAF (phase-detection autofocus), and LED flash. On the front, the phone has a 24MP selfie camera. The main highlight for both the cameras is Huawei’s AI technology to enhance the image depending upon the surrounding automatically. A 3400mAh battery backs the Honor 10 with support for fast charging and USB-C. The battery is claimed to get charged up to 50 percent within 25 minutes. Other connectivity options include a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The pre-order for the Honor 10 will start from tonight (00:00 Hrs) i.e midnight via Flipkart, Honor Store. Launch offers for the Honor 10 in India include an exchange discount of up to Rs. 5,000 for Honor phones and select non-Honor phones.
