Lenovo-owned Motorola is expected to launch the long-time rumoured Moto E3 Play on June in its home market.
Lenovo-owned Motorola is expected to launch its long-time rumoured Moto E3 Play on June 6 in its home market. The Moto Z3 Play will be the successor to the popular Moto Z2 Play which was launched last year. Ahead of the launch, the Moto Z3 Play has been subjected to several leaks and rumours revealing the design of the device and also the specs that it is expected to pack. Over the last weekend some renders of the Moto Z3 Play were leaked which re-confirmed the previously rumoured specs alongside the rumoured 5G Moto Mod. Today, another set of renders have been leaked showing off the dual cameras and side placed fingerprint sensor.
The newly leaked renders of the Moto Z3 Play by WinFuture show the phone from both back and front. Similar to the previous rumours, the new renders also reveal a taller display with curved corners for the Moto Z3 Play. This means the smartphone may come with an aspect ratio of 18:9, like almost all the recently launched devices from other brands. Previous rumours had also revealed the same aspect ratio for the Z3 Play.
In the renders, the rear panel of the phone is seen with dual camera setup housed in a circular module, just as the Moto Z2 Play. But the positioning of the camera set up seems to have changed a bit. The rear camera module on the Z3 Play is placed slightly lower than the Z2 Play. Apart from the camera, the rear panel of the phone flaunts the magnetic strips for Moto Mods. As already mentioned earlier, the Motorola may launch new 5G Moto Mods alongside the Z3 Play on June 6. This means, the upcoming Z3 Play may come with both old as well as new Moto Mods support.
The new renders also show the presence of fingerprint sensor. But, compared to the Moto Z2 Play, the fingerprint sensor on the Z3 Play is expected to be on the sides — on the power key. According to previous rumours, the power button on the Z3 Play will have a larger surface area to accommodate for this fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint sensor on the Z2 Play was on top of the home button in the front panel, right below the screen. The renders also show the presence of a brand new button on the left side of the phone. As for yet, there is no confirmation on what the additional button could be for, but rumours are it could be a dedicated key for Google Assistant/Moto Actions. It could also be a mute switch.

The renders show the Moto Z3 Play with a glass body on both front and back. On the front top bezel, there’s the earpiece and the selfie camera, while on the bottom chin the renders show the presence of Motorola branding. There’re no physical capacitive keys, this means the Z3 Play will come with in-screen navigation keys.
According to previous rumours, the Moto Z3 Play is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage along with support for microSD card. The smartphone is rumoured to come with a 12MP low-light sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor for depth effect on the back. On the front, it is expected to sport an 8MP sensor. The phone is tipped to come with a 3,000mAh battery setup. Other features that we may see on the Moot Z3 Play include — Moto Display, Moto Voice, and face unlock.
