Last week, OPPO launched the first smartphone under its new Realme brand, dubbed the Realme 1. Aimed at taking on Xiaomi’s Redmi line of smartphones in the online segment in India, the Realme 1 comes with a unique design, impressive hardware specifications, and a very competitive price. The smartphone will be going on sale for the first time today on Amazon.in at 12 PM. While the smartphone isn’t being sold via the flash sale route, there is a good chance that it could run out of stock soon after it goes on sale. Which is why we recommend placing your order as soon as possible. In case you miss out today, you may have to wait at least a few more days to place your order.
OPPO’s Realme 1 comes in three variants. The base variant of the smartphone includes 3GB of RAM along with 32GB of onboard storage, while the more expensive variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory is priced at Rs.10,990. The most expensive variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage is priced at Rs.13,990. However, only the 3GB RAM and 6GB RAM variants of the smartphone will be available for purchase during the sale today. Launch offers on the Realme 1 include 5% cashback on EMI transactions for SBI credit cardholders, benefits of up to Rs.4,850 from Reliance Jio, 80% off on first Kindle eBook, free case and screen protector, as well as No Cost EMI option on all major credit cards.
The Realme 1 comes in a Diamond Black finish with a glossy effect that reflects light similarly to a diamond. So if you find the OPPO F7 to be a stylish device but don’t wish to spend a lot of money on your next smartphone, the Realme 1 should definitely attract you. If for some reason, you don’t find the Diamond Black finish pleasing, you can go for the Solar Red option. Like many of its rivals, the Realme 1 features a 6.0-inch Full HD+ 1080 x 2160 resolution Full Screen display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and 1.98mm thin bezels.
Powering the Realme 1 is a MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core processor manufactured on a 12nm process. In addition to the octa-core processor, the Realme 1 also comes with a dual-core AI processor (APU) to power AI features. The octa-core processor is clocked at 2.0 GHz and includes a Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. When it comes to memory, Realme 1 is available in three configurations – 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. All three versions of the smartphone include Dual-SIM card slots as well as a dedicated microSD card slot for further expansion up to 256GB.
While the Realme 1 does have a bezel-less display, it doesn’t feature a dual-camera setup at the rear. Instead, it offers a 13-megapixel resolution primary camera with AI scene recognition and an f/2.2 aperture. On the front is an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 aperture lens, AI beauty, Vivid Bokeh, AR stickers, and Face Unlock features. In terms of connectivity, the Realme 1 offers Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, FM radio, and 4G VoLTE. Keeping the lights on is a 3410mAh capacity battery with AI battery management. As for physical dimensions, the Realme 1 measures 156 x 75.3 x 7.8mm and weighs in at 158 grams. The smartphone does not include a fingerprint sensor, so you will need to use the Face Unlock feature for easy access.
In terms of software, the Realme 1 runs on ColorOS 5.0, based on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. OPPO claims the Realme 1’s software has been designed for India and comes with exclusive and unique Indian Theme. The Realme 1 also comes with AI Board assistant and an AI-powered Album app.
