Vivo announced the launch of its new Z-series smartphones recently, which comprises mid-range devices. Now, the brand has gone ahead and launched the debut smartphone in the series called Vivo Z1 in China. The new offering from the phonemaker flaunts a notch display and dual rear cameras as its highlights. The Vivo Z1 will go on sale in China starting next month.
The newest launch from the brand ships with a 6.28-inch IPS display and bears a resolution of 2,280 x 1,080 pixels. The screen comes with an aspect ratio of 19:9 to accommodate the notch on top. The performance of the Vivo Z1 is driven by a 14nm octa-core Snapdragon 660 SoC backed by Adreno 512 GPU. The processor is further accompanied by 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card. There is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for security purposes.
Coming to the optics department, the Vivo Z1 flaunts a dual-camera module at the rear panel, featuring a 13-megapixel primary snapper accompanied by a 2-megapixel secondary shooter and an LED flash. For selfies and video calling, the phone gets a 12-megapixel camera at the front panel. Out of the box, the handset runs Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. As for the connectivity options, the Z1 offers hybrid dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5 and GPS. A 3,260mAh battery completes the spec sheet.
Vivo is offering the Z1 in three colour options – black, blue or red. The smartphone is already up for pre-orders in China and will go on sale starting June 4th in the country. The phone is priced at RMB 1,798, (roughly Rs 19,200). However, there is no word on the global launch of the handset as of now.
